Supported Draupadi Murmu

Om Prakash Rajbhar had supported NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election. For which he also got a reward. The Uttar Pradesh government has provided Y category security to Om Prakash Rajbhar. Om Prakash Rajbhar supported the NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu instead of Yashwant Sinha of the opposition in the presidential election. In the 2017 assembly elections, Om Prakash Rajbhar contested in alliance with the BJP and was sworn in as a minister in the first government formed under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. However, later Om Prakash Rajbhar broke ties with the BJP.
