Former Tata Group chairman and industrialist Cyrus Mistry has died in a road accident. This road accident happened in Palghar near Mumbai. After the accident, Mistry was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry died in a road accident on Sunday when his car rammed into a divider in Maharashtra's Palghar district, a police official said.
He told that the accident happened at around 3.15 pm when Mistry was going from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in a Mercedes car, the incident is of a bridge over the Surya river.Two other people traveling with him including the car driver were injured. Both the injured were taken to a hospital in Gujarat.  has been admitted to. Balasaheb Patil (DCP, Thane) said that it appears to be a normal road accident. The accident was so severe that even the car got blown up. Another person who was in the car with Mistry died.

Sixth Chairman of Tata Group:
Cyrus Pallonji Mistry was born on 4 July 1968. He was the younger son of Pallonji Mistry, the head of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group. He did his early studies at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and later went to London to study civil engineering. He was the sixth chairman of the Tata Group. After the resignation of Ratan Tata in 2012, Cyrus Mistry was given the post of chairman of Tata Sons.
He was the second person to head the group despite not having Tata in his surname, although Cyrus Mistry was removed from the post of Tata Sons chairman in October 2016 following differences with Ratan Tata. In December 2019, the Company Law Tribunal reinstated Mistry as the group's executive chairman but before that in February 2017, he was removed as a director on the board of Tata Sons.
