He is always in discussions about films as well as controversial statements. Meanwhile, a big update is coming out regarding Chetan Kumar. According to a media report, Chetan Kumar has been arrested by the Bengaluru Police in connection with a controversial tweet against Hinduism. In his tweet, Chetan Kumar said that the existence of Hinduism is a lie. The actor has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

On Monday, March 20, Chetan Kumar posted a controversial tweet on Hinduism on his official Twitter handle. In his tweet, Chetan said that Hinduism is a religion that spreads lies. In this tweet, Chetan Kumar wrote, "Hinduism is based on lies. Savarkar: the Indian nation began when Rama defeated Ravana and returned to Ayodhya – False, 1992: Babri Masjid is the birthplace of Rama – A lie, 2023 Urigowda-Nanjegowda are Tipu's killers – lies, Hinduism can be defeated by truth – truth means equality."

The actor has now been arrested by the Seshadripuram police in Bengaluru for tweeting such controversial words against Hinduism. Chetan Kumar has been in the headlines earlier also due to such controversial statements. He made a statement about the 'Bhoot Kola' tradition in the film 'Kantara'. The objection has been registered on that statement. A Hindu organization had filed a complaint against Chetan.

Chetan had reacted to the statement of 'Kantara' director Rishabh Shetty. To this, he said, “The Bhoot Kola tradition is not a part of Hinduism. This practice started before the existence of Hinduism. So just like the Hindu language cannot be imposed on anyone, similarly, Hindutva cannot be imposed on anyone. The ghost is a tradition of the natives of the Kola country. She will not convert to Hinduism."
