Mulayam Singh Yadav is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He has also been the Defense Minister of India. He was originally a teacher, but after leaving teaching, he joined politics and formed the Socialist Party.
Mulayam Singh Yadav is an Indian politician and the founder of the Samajwadi Party. He was born on 21 November 1939 in Saifai, Uttar Pradesh. Mulayam Singh Yadav has been the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice while once held the post of Defense Minister of India. Mulayam Singh Yadav was currently a Member of Parliament from the Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Mulayam Singh Yadav holds BA, BT and MA degrees. He had two marriages, his first wife Malti Devi died in 2003. His son Akhilesh Yadav was also the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017.
Even at the time of his marriage to Malti Devi, Mulayam Singh Yadav had a relationship with Sadhna Gupta. With this, they also have a son Prateek Yadav.
Mulayam Singh Yadav became an MP for the first time in 1967 and became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the first time in 1989. After the fall of VP Singh's government in November 1990, Mulayam Singh Yadav joined Chandra Shekhar's Janata Dal and remained Chief Minister with the support of Congress. His government fell in April 1991 after Congress withdrew support. After this Mulayam Singh Yadav became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1993 to 1995 and from 2003 to 2007.
