The Bihar Police has termed the reports of violent incidents against Biharis living in Tamil Nadu as completely misleading. Police said that this rumour was deliberately spread with the aim of creating an atmosphere of fear among the people. Politics has heated up in Bihar over the beating of Bihar labourers in Tamil Nadu. While the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised the issue in the Assembly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. After this, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Tamil Nadu termed the viral video as fake.

According to the news agency PTI, Bihar Police has arrested a person from Jamui for posting this video on social media.

Bihar Police issued a statement saying that the Economic Offenses Wing had registered a case against four people in this matter. The four people who have been identified in this case are Aman Kumar, Rakesh Tiwari, Yuvraj Singh Rajput and Manish Kashyap. Aman Kumar is a resident of Laxmipur in the Jamui district.

ADG Headquarters JS Gangwar said that an investigation is being done by EOU by registering a case under various sections of the IPC and IT Act. DSP level officer has been made IO. So far in the investigation, a total of 30 such videos and social media posts have been told, through which the rumour was spread.

Giving information about the incident, the ADG Headquarters said that several objectionable posts and evidence were found on the mobile of the arrested accused Aman Kumar. All these are being investigated. According to the police, the second accused in the case, Yuvraj Singh Rajput, is wanted in a case registered at Narayanpur police station in Bhojpur district. It is being told that even in the incident of Mubarakpur in Chhapra district, evidence was found of him posting objectionable posts.
