A court in Gujarat's Surat has sentenced Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to two years imprisonment. There is anger in the Congress party regarding this decision of the court. The Congress party has announced that it will take out a march till Vijay Chowk. It is being told that Congress leaders will go to Vijay Chowk between 11.30 am to 12 noon.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by the court of Surat in Gujarat on Thursday. The court also granted bail to Rahul Gandhi for the statement regarding "Modi surname" and stayed the execution of his sentence for 30 days. After being sentenced to two years, his Lok Sabha membership is also under threat. Meanwhile, the Congress party has announced that it will take out a march till Vijay Chowk. Opposition parties have also supported this march of the Congress.

After this decision of the Surat court, other opposition parties including Congress are attacking the Modi government. Congress has announced the protest. It is being told that Congress leaders will go to Vijay Chowk between 11.30 am to 12 noon. Congress President Kharge said that we have sought time to meet the President as well.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has held a meeting with party leaders at his residence yesterday regarding this matter. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that we will go to Vijay Chowk on Friday between 11.30 am and 12 noon. There will be a meeting of opposition parties at 10 am. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will hold a meeting with the State Congress President in the evening. Demonstrations will be held in Delhi and in different states on Monday.

All the opposition parties including the Congress have become aggressive against the Modi government. Mallikarjuna said that the Modi government is doing politics of vendetta and harassment. We will fight directly with the Modi government. About 50 MPs were present in the meeting which lasted for 2 hours on Thursday. Jairam Ramesh said that this is not just a legal issue, it is a serious political issue which is related to democracy. We will fight it legally.
