Khatauli By-Election 2022 Date: Election Commission of India has announced the by-election in the Khatauli Assembly of UP today. Voting will be held here on December 5. While the counting of votes will take place on December 8.

The Election Commission has announced a by-election to the Khatauli assembly in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. According to the notification issued by the Election Commission, voting will be held on December 5 in Khatauli. The counting of votes will take place on December 8 along with the assembly elections for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. It is to be known that BJP MLA from Khatauli assembly Vikram Singh Saini was cancelled due to punishment for rioting. After which the Election Commission has announced the schedule of a by-election in Khatauli today.

Quoting the Election Commission, a news agency has given information about the election-related program by tweeting. According to this, a notification will be issued on November 10 regarding the assembly by-election in Khatauli. The last date for filing nominations has been fixed as November 17. Nominations can be made till November 21. After this, voting will be held here on December 5. The counting of votes will be held on December 8 along with Himachal and Gujarat.

On October 11, 2022, Vikram Singh Saini was sentenced to two years in prison by the MP-MLA court for the Muzaffarnagar riots. After 27 days, the Assembly Secretariat declared the Khatauli assembly seat vacant. In view of the order of the Supreme Court, Saini's membership in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly has also been automatically cancelled from October 11.

Twelve people, including BJP MLA Vikram Saini, were found guilty in the Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013. The MP-MLA court had sentenced all the accused including Vikram Saini to two years imprisonment. It is known that after the murder of two youths in Kawal village of Muzaffarnagar, a case was registered against 28 people including BJP MLA Vikram Saini from Khatauli seat. In this, about 15 people were acquitted due to a lack of evidence.
