NMFT conference: Home Minister Amit Shah said – all countries should take action against organizations that radicalize youth
Today, the 2-day NMFT "No Money for Terror" conference has come to an end, in which Home Minister Amit Shah said that "all the countries should take action against the organizations which radicalize the youth by identifying them."
During the two-day NMFT conference, delegates from countries across the globe deliberated on the emerging trends in Terror Financing, misuse of New Emerging Financial Technologies, and international cooperation in the area of Terror Financing to effectively fight against 'No Money for Terror'. May the objective be successful. Addressing the concluding session of the 3rd Ministerial Conference on "No Money for Terror", organized on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of India's Independence, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the present international program of "Combating the Financing of Terrorism" for the participating countries and organizations This conference is a unique platform to discuss the effectiveness of the system and the solutions to the emerging challenges. Shah said that terrorism has taken such a dreadful form whose impact is visible at every level.
“Terrorism is the biggest canker against democracy, human rights, economic progress, and world peace, which we must not let win”. No one country or organization, no matter how powerful, can defeat terrorism alone and the international community must continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder against this complex and borderless threat.
Along with this, the Home Minister said that he thanked the delegations of various countries and multilateral organizations who came in large numbers from every corner of the world for their participation. During these two days, the delegates deliberated on the emerging trends in Terror Financing, misuse of new emerging financial technologies, and international cooperation in the area of Terror Financing to effectively achieve our objective of 'No Money for Terror'. This will help in shaping the discussion into strategic thinking in the days to come.
Amit Shah said that in the last few decades, India has successfully faced many challenges including terrorism in all its forms. Due to the policy of 'zero tolerance against terrorism, a strong framework of counter-terror laws, and empowerment of agencies, there has been a significant reduction in the incidents of terrorism in India and success has been achieved in strict punishment in cases of terrorism.
Home Minister Shah said that forensic science is being promoted to equip the investigation with science and technology. In this direction, with the vision of Prime Minister Modi, the world's first National Forensic Science University has been established.
Reiterating PM Modi's resolve, Home Minister Amit Shah said that India will be the focal point of international cooperation for "Counter-Terrorism (CT) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT). We cannot think of a fear-free society, a fear-free world without an effective, long-term, and concerted fight against all forms of terrorism. The citizens of our nation have entrusted the greatest responsibility to the leadership and we must live up to the test of this responsibility. Over the past two decades, the United Nations Security Council has developed a framework to deal with this threat, with the main objective of creating a "counter-terrorism sanctions regime". This system established by the United Nations has successfully done the work of curbing the actions of the countries making terrorism a state-funded enterprise to some extent, but it has to be made more strict, transparent, and precise.
