Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today named 11 MLAs, claiming they were approached by the BJP in an attempt to topple the Punjab government. The day the Congress lost most of its MLAs in Goa to the state's ruling BJP, Kejriwal accused the BJP of plotting similar defection from his party in Delhi and Punjab.

Kejriwal said that BJP is vandalizing MLAs by spending crores across the country in the name of Operation Lotus, this is wrong. But this is also the fault of Congress. BJP could not break our MLAs in Delhi, Punjab. AAP's Punjab minister Harpal Cheema said the MLAs who were contacted were Dinesh Chadha, Raman Arora, Buddha Ram, Kulwant Pandori, Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Rajneesh Dahiya, Rupinder Singh Happy, Sheetal Angular, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Labh Singh Ugoke and others. Baljinder Kaur is included. He said he would file a complaint with the police chief and show him the evidence of the phone call.

Kejriwal and AAP had recently accused the BJP of trying to "Operation Lotus" in Delhi and instigating the MLAs to defect. The party claims that after it failed in Delhi, the BJP shifted its focus to Punjab. The term "Operation Lotus" is used by opposition parties, which they call the sabotage of legislators by the BJP to topple governments.
