Comedian Vir Das demands cancellation of the show to be held in Bangalore, alleging hurting the sentiments of Hindus

Comedian Vir Das's comedy show is scheduled to take place on 10th November in Bengaluru, Karnataka. But now doubts are hovering over the organization of the show. Because a Hindu organization has raised the demand to cancel his show, accusing Vir Das of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. This organization has given a written complaint to the Bangalore Police.

In fact, right-wing organization Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has filed a complaint against comedian Vir Das with the Karnataka Police and demanded the cancellation of his comedy show to be held in Bengaluru on November 10. Following the complaint, the Vyalikaval police in Bengaluru have filed an FIR against Das for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

The complaint states that the stand-up comedian's show hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus and India is not portrayed properly in front of the world. State Hindu Janajagruti Samiti spokesperson Mohan Gowda said in his complaint, it has been observed that controversial comedian Vir Das is organizing a comedy show on November 10 at Chowdia Memorial Hall in Malleswaram, Bengaluru.

Mohan Gowda said that earlier, Das had made derogatory statements against women, our Prime Minister and India at the John F Kennedy Center in Washington DC, US and defamed the country. The stand-up comedian said that in India, we worship women during the day and rape them at night. A case was registered in this regard by Mumbai Police and Delhi Police.

State Hindu Janajagruti Samiti spokesperson said it is a serious offence under the Indian Penal Code. In this context, it is not right to allow such a controversial person to organize such an event in a communally sensitive city like Bengaluru. When Karnataka is already facing many problems due to communal incidents, such events should not be allowed, which can disturb the law and order problems. We demand that this program be cancelled immediately.
