The Millet menu will have Bajra Raab (Soup), Ragi Dosa, Ragi Ghee Roast, Ragi Thatte Idli, and Jowar Vegetable Upma as starters. Apart from this, as a main course, there will be mustard greens with maize/millet / jowar roti, ragi puri with potato curry, mixed millet khichdi and millet khichdi with garlic chutney.

These days the central government is emphasizing increasing the production and consumption of millets. In this episode, now many special items made from millets have been included in the menu of the Parliament of India. From jowar vegetable upma to bajra khichdi, ragi laddoos to bajra churma, they will soon find a place in the Parliament House canteen menu along with traditional favourites biryani and cutlets.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat address yesterday said that every G20 summit in India will feature millet dishes. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has demanded a special millet menu for the members. According to the report of the English newspaper Indian Express, it will now get a chance to choose from the new menu in addition to the old one.

Talking about the latest menu of Parliament House, now includes Millet Raab (Soup), Ragi Dosa, Ragi Ghee Roast, Ragi Thatte Idli, Jowar Vegetable Upma as a starter and Maize/Bajra/Jowar for the main course. Mustard greens roti with roti, ragi puri with potato curry, bajra khichdi and bajra khichdi with garlic chutney will be available. Apart from this, sweets include kesari kheer, ragi walnut laddoos and millet churma.

Sources said the a la carte menu has been designed in a way that reflects the country's culinary diversity - oats milk, soy milk, ragi matar ka shorba, bajra onion ka muthiya (Gujarat), shahi bajra ki tikki (Middle East).
