A major terrorist attack took place on Monday in Pakistan, which is facing a severe economic crisis. A suicide attack took place at a mosque in Peshawar city on Monday afternoon. In this attack, 28 people died while 143 people are said to be injured. According to initial information, the suicide attack took place during prayers in the mosque. A part of the mosque collapsed after the blast. In whose debris many people are feared to be buried. Relief-rescue work has been started as soon as the information about the threat came to the fore. Rescue officials have confirmed the suicide blast. According to the report of Pakistan's famous Dawn News, the blast took place at around 1.40 pm, when prayers were being offered at the mosque located in the Police Line area of the city.

According to a spokesperson for the Lady Reading Hospital (LRC), 143 injured people were brought to the hospital, some of them in critical condition. The spokesperson said the area has been completely cordoned off and only ambulances are being allowed to enter, Dawn News reported. Meanwhile, a police official said that a portion of the mosque had collapsed due to the blast and several people were feared trapped under it.

According to the report of Pakistani news Geo News, 28 people lost their lives in this blast. Two policemen have also died in this. More than 143 people have been injured. The condition of many people is said to be serious. Many people are feared to be buried under the debris. Emergency has been imposed in the area after the blast.

At present, the Pakistan Army has cordoned off the area. It is being told that the army unit's office is also near the place where the blast took place. Earlier on March 4, 2022, 63 people were killed and 196 others were injured during a suicide bombing inside a Shia mosque in Peshawar's Kocha Risaldar area. The Khorasan unit of the Islamic State terror group (IS-K) claimed responsibility for the attack.
