The central government has taken a tough stand in the violence that broke out in Bengal on Ram Navami. The Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from the Mamta Banerjee government of West Bengal regarding the violence that broke out during Ram Navami processions in different cities of Bengal including Howrah, and Hooghly. The Bengal government will have to send this report to the Home Ministry within three days. According to the information received, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the Chief Secretary of West Bengal to send a report on the entire incident within 3 days. The Calcutta High Court has already sought a report from the state government regarding the violence that erupted on Ram Navami. Now the Bengal government will have to give a detailed report on the matter to the court as well as the Home Ministry.

According to the information received, Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar had written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah in connection with the violence that erupted on Ram Navami. In he said that Hindus are continuously being targeted in Bengal. Earlier, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari had filed a petition in the High Court.

Following the letter from the Bengal BJP president, the Home Ministry has sought a report from the Mamata Banerjee government on the Ram Navami violence. Earlier on Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah had spoken to Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose and state BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar and assessed the law and order situation after two groups clashed during a Ram Navami procession in Howrah on Thursday.

Here, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee once again attacked the BJP over the violence in many places of the state on Ram Navami. Mamta Banerjee said that BJP people can riot anywhere anytime. That's why I have to be alert all the time.

He further said that we do not do violence, the people of Bengal do not like violence and this is criminal violence. BJP is responsible for the violence, they brought goons from outside to Bengal. Even before this, Mamta Banerjee had said that the Central Force came, stayed in hotels and carried out violent incidents in Bengal in association with the BJP.
