Concerns are being raised about the food crisis in the world after the Ukraine-Russia war. To overcome this, there is a continuous dialogue between India and America. On a visit to India, USAID (United States Agency for International Aid) chief Samantha Power's talks with Indian officials on Tuesday discussed in detail all the issues related to the food crisis.

I2U2 Steps Review

The meeting also reviewed the recent steps taken under the India-Israel-US-UAE group I2U2 to address the food crisis. It has been told that India-US will mainly make a future strategy to overcome the food crisis in the future. India has made it clear that in the current situation, it will increase the food supply to other countries keeping in mind its food security.

India released details of help

In the last few months, India has also given details of the food grains supplied to other countries in the name of help to the US. Due to the war, it is believed that in the coming days, there is going to be a shortage of coarse grains like wheat, rice, sugar as well as edible oils, and other food items in many countries of the world. The latest reports from the World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization suggest that the world's food crisis will deepen.

India's important role in the supply of wheat, rice, and sugar

A major reason is the short supply of wheat and edible oils from Ukraine and Russia. On the other hand, it is also being said that India will have a major role in the supply of wheat, rice, and sugar. India has recently banned the export of wheat and sugar, saying that they are doing black marketing by stocking its products internationally.

The export will be decided after negotiation

The Government of India also says that now wheat or sugar will be exported only after talks at the government level directly. Despite this, India is sending food grains to neighboring countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in view of their need. Sources say that all these issues have been discussed in the India-US talks held on Tuesday.
