Announcing India's contribution of USD 500,000 to the United Nations to combat terrorism, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said it would further strengthen the organization's fight against terrorism.

A two-day meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the United Nations Security Council was organized in India. On the first day, the conference was held on Friday i.e. yesterday at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai and on Saturday i.e. today in New Delhi, in which discussions were held on the threat and prevention of terrorism around the world. During this, while addressing the meeting of the UN Anti-Terrorism Committee, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced that India will make a voluntary contribution of USD 500,000 to the United Nations to combat terrorism.

Along with this, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that terrorist groups are abusing many new technologies including encrypted messaging services, which threatens the international community. Therefore, there is a need to work on immediate measures to deal with it.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the toolkits of the internet and social media platforms have become powerful tools for terrorists, through which they try to destabilize society, and spread bigotry, which needs to be tackled immediately. Along with this, the External Affairs Minister said that terrorist groups and criminal organizations are committing crimes using unmanned aerial systems like drones, which he described as a big challenge for security agencies around the world.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that "It was great to meet Reem Al Hashimi, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation. His participation in the special UNSC meeting reflects the confidence in our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership." During this, the challenges arising due to terrorism between the two countries were discussed.

Along with this, the External Affairs Minister held a meeting with the heads of many other countries.
 
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in a tweet thanked US Secretary of State Seblinkon for his statement on terrorism and fixing 26/11 accountability. Along with this, he said that many other issues including the Ukraine conflict were discussed with Seblinken.
