Indian-origin American Republican leader Nikki Haley has announced to contest the 2024 presidential election in the United States of America (US). She claimed, "I'm Nikki Haley and I'm running for president." Nikki has been a former governor of South Carolina and the US ambassador to the United Nations. Nikki Haley has emerged as a major challenger to former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination as she launches her presidential bid. Whereas two years ago she had said that she would not challenge her former boss i.e. Donald Trump in 2024. According to media reports, the next presidential election in America is going to be held on November 5, 2024.

Nikki, 51, was born on January 20, 1972, in Bamberg, South Carolina. His parents Ajit Singh Randhawa and mother Raj Kaur Randhawa had migrated to America from Amritsar in Punjab. Nikki's father worked as a professor at Punjab Agricultural University while her mother studied law at Delhi University.

Nikki Haley completed her graduation from Clemson University and after working for a waste management company, she joined the family business as Chief Financial Officer. She married William Michael Haley 1996, who is a commissioned officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Before the announcement, Nikki gave an interview with America's Fox News in January last month and indicated that she would contest the election. When Nikki Haley was asked in the interview whether she is going to contest the 2024 US presidential election? Responding to this, he said, "It's time for a new generation, it's time for new leadership, and it's time to take our country back. America is ready to fight, and we're just getting started." Along with this, he said that "US President Joe Biden does not deserve a second term, Republicans need to be brought back to the government. Who can do leadership and win the election."
