The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in a meeting on September 30, had decided to stop levying fines for not wearing masks in public places.

However, in crowded public places, all public are advised to wear masks, the government insisted, the order of the Delhi government's health and family welfare department said. DDMA said in the meeting – Wearing masks was useful in maintaining the proper behaviour of Covid, yet it was agreed that mandatory wearing of masks under the Epidemic Act cannot be extended beyond 30-09-2022. Along with this, a fine of Rs 500 for not wearing a mask in public places will also be withdrawn after September 30.
