Information about stone pelting on the Vande Bharat Express train has come to light in West Bengal. According to the information received, stones were thrown at the Vande Bharat Express returning from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah. The incident took place near Kumarganj in the Malda district of West Bengal. The glass of the gate of the C-13 coach of the train got cracked due to stone pelting. The railway administration is probing the matter. On the other hand, BJP has termed the incident of stone pelting on Vande Bharat as the handiwork of TMC workers. West Bengal BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari termed the incident as a TMC conspiracy. He has demanded a detailed inquiry into the matter. Just four days after its inauguration, there have been stone pelting on the Vande Bharat Express in Bengal. This has also left a deep stain on the image of Bengal.
It may be noted that on December 30, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train connecting Howrah and New Jalpaiguri through video conferencing. It may be known that after the death of mother Heeraben on December 30, PM Modi inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express train of Bengal through video conferencing. PM Modi's program to visit Bengal was proposed that day. But due to the demise of the mother, this program was done through video conferencing at the last moment.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Bharat Express train, PM Modi had said that in the 'Amrit Mahotsav' of the country's independence, the country had resolved to start 475 'Vande Bharat Train'. Today, one of these 'Vande Bharat' connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri has started. It goes on to say that there has been an incident of stone pelting on Vande Bharat Express even before Bengal. Earlier on December 15, 2022, stones were thrown at the Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express train in Chhattisgarh, due to which the window glass of the train was damaged.
