Budget 2023: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a big gift to women and the elderly in the general budget today. A new savings scheme Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana has been launched for women. In this, women will get good interest in savings. Also, now the limit of the Senior Citizen Account Scheme has been increased from Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the General Budget 2023-24 in the Lok Sabha at 11 am on Wednesday. Earlier, the Finance Minister met the President and informed them about the presentation of the budget. After that, the Union Cabinet put its stamp on the budget. After that, the Finance Minister reached the House and announced several schemes from the box of her budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a new savings scheme to empower women financially. This new savings scheme has been named Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana. In this, women will get 7.5 percent interest on savings of Rs 2 lakh. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Mahila Samman Savings Scheme will run till 2025.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made big announcements for senior citizens in the budget for the financial year 2023-24. The government has doubled the deposit limit of the Senior Citizens Savings Scheme to Rs 30 lakh. So far, the maximum deposit limit in this scheme is Rs 15 lakh. Along with this, it has been proposed to increase the monthly income account scheme to Rs 9 lakh. At present, a maximum investment of Rs 4.5 lakh can be made under this scheme.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has now recognized the PAN card as an identity card in the budget 2023-23. PAN cards will be accepted as a common identity for all types of digital work in all government departments. PAN cards can now be used as a single business ID. PAN is an alphanumeric, 10-digit identification number. It is different for each person. It is issued by the Income Tax Department. As of now, apart from PAN cards, there are more than 13 such as EPFO, ESIC, GSTN, TIN, and TAN among the business ID cards.

History was created today in the General Budget 2023-24 when the country's Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met the head of the country i.e. President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
