On April 1, the LPG gas cylinder was cut by Rs 92. However, this change has been made only on the cost of commercial gas cylinders. There has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg gas cylinder used in homes. The government had increased the prices of commercial gas cylinders by Rs 350 in March which has now been cut by Rs 92 on Saturday.

With the new change, commercial LPG has now become Rs 2028 in the country's capital Delhi, Rs 2132 in Kolkata, Rs 1980 in Mumbai and Rs 2192.50 in Chennai. At the same time, the prices of domestic gas have remained the same as in the previous month. Domestic gas companies review LPG prices on the first of every month.

There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders in metros across the country. According to the website of IOCL, the price of a domestic gas cylinder in the country's capital Delhi is only Rs 1,103. 1,129 in Kolkata, Rs 1102.50 in Mumbai and Rs 1118.50 in Chennai. Let us tell you that last month, domestic LPG prices also increased by Rs 50.

Earlier this month, the Modi government extended the subsidy of Rs 200 per LPG cylinder under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for one year in view of the high prices of petroleum products in the international market. The subsidy is deposited directly into the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries. Approved a subsidy of Rs 200 per 14.2 kg cylinder for up to 12 refills per year to be provided to PMUY beneficiaries.
