The Aam Aadmi Party has a clear majority in the Delhi Municipal Corporation election with 250 councillors. In this election, AAP won 134 wards. BJP had won in 104 wards. The swearing-in ceremony of the MCD and the election of the mayor are to be held on Friday afternoon. Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has nominated BJP corporator Satya Sharma as a pro-tem speaker to preside over the meeting for the election of the mayor. She will administer oaths to other corporators. Meanwhile, AAP has nominated Mukesh Goyal as the Leader of the House. Sharma was the mayor of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation before the merger of all the corporations in the national capital.
