Shiv Sena will hold Dussehra rally in Shivaji Park, High Court gives permission, says - BMC misused legal process

Shiv Sena Dussehra Rally at Shivaji Park: The Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray on Friday received great news from the Bombay High Court. The court has allowed the Uddhav faction to organize the annual Dussehra rally of Shiv Sena at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

The Bombay High Court has allowed the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena to organize a Dussehra rally on October 5 at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai. The court said that the order of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is clearly an abuse of the legal process. Along with this, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) has been allowed to use Shivaji Park from October 2 to 6. The court has also asked the Uddhav faction to maintain law and order.

Let us tell you that the Uddhav faction took this matter to the High Court because the BMC did not take any decision on his rally application even after months. But when the matter reached the court, the Municipal Corporation refused to give permission.

Both the factions of Shiv Sena had filed separate petitions in the Bombay High Court. But the court allowed a petition by the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction and its secretary Anil Desai challenging the BMC order. And the petition of the Shinde faction was dismissed.

It may be mentioned that every year Shiv Sena organizes a Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. This tradition is going on since the time of late Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena. After Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray also continued this tradition. But in June this year, Shiv Sena split into two factions, due to which the issue of the Dussehra rally got heated. In fact, the CM Eknath Shinde-led camp, which rebelled against Shiv Sena, is also adamant about organizing the Dussehra rally in Shivaji Park itself.
