A suspected Chinese spy balloon was shot down off the Carolina coast on Saturday after passing over sensitive military sites in North America, the Associated Press reported. The Chinese spy balloon has fallen into pieces in the Atlantic Ocean.

US security agencies are now collecting the debris. US President Joe Biden approved the shooting down of the spy balloon. After this, it was supported by military officers. The surveillance balloon was first spotted over Montana earlier this week. Its size is equal to three buses.

China said that the US shooting down the balloon was a serious violation of international practice. Along with this, he issued a warning to America and said that he should be prepared to face the consequences. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for airports in Wilmington in North Carolina, Charleston in South Carolina and Myrtle Beach before the Chinese spy balloon was shot down.
