Here last night, a vehicle carrying devotees lost control at high speed and collided with a roadside tree. 6 devotees died in this accident. While 16 were injured.

The high-speed havoc killed six devotees. While 16 people were seriously injured. This horrific accident took place in the Belagavi district of Karnataka. Where last night a vehicle carrying devotees went uncontrolled at high speed and collided with a roadside tree. Six devotees died tragically in this accident. While 16 were injured. The deceased have been identified as Hanumavva (25), Deepa (31), Savita (17), Supritha (11), Indiravva (24) and Maruthi (42). The deceased were on their way to the famous Saundatti Yallamma temple from Hulanda village. The incident took place when the Bolero overturned after hitting a banyan tree at a bend after the driver lost control. According to the police, the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday near Chunchanura village in the Belagavi district.

The local police probing the matter said that the pilgrims were on their way to the temple. In the middle of the way, he sat on the Bolero. Five people died on the spot and another on the way to the hospital in the accident that took place minutes after they boarded the Bolero. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the accident happened due to rash and negligent driving.

There were 23 passengers in the Bolero cargo vehicle. Around 16 people were injured in the incident and have been shifted to nearby hospitals. Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Patil reached the spot and investigated the matter. Information about the people who lost their lives in the accident has been given to their families. After which there is chaos in the house of the dead.

Meanwhile, Karnataka's Water Resources Minister and district in-charge Govinda Karajol have announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the victims. Expressing grief over the deaths, he wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Katkola police have started investigating the matter.
